Everything Bagel Vinaigrette

This vinaigrette is a delightful twist on traditional Italian vinaigrette. It’s perfect for salads and also works well for marinating meats and vegetables.

Everything dressing with fresh herbs and spices in a jar – Flavor Field Guide recipe by Chef Richard Hattaway

I use it in FFG’s Cowboy Caviar in place of traditional Italian Dressing. The vinaigrette gets all of its character from everything bagel seasoning, which makes a great base to build a dressing. Letting the vinaigrette sit for about two hours lets the flavors bloom and become more pronounced. Whether used on salads or with meats, the Everything Bagel Vinaigrette is an easy way to add delightful flavor to a variety of foods.

Main Ingredients:

Everything Bagel Seasoning: This blend of sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, dried onion, and sea salt flakes adds a savory, crunchy element that gives the vinaigrette its distinctive flavor.

Choose your Vinegar: The combination of red wine vinegar and white wine vinegar brings a balanced acidity and tanginess, adding depth and brightness to the dressing.

  • 1/4 cup sugar

  • 1/3 cup olive oil

  • 1/4 tsp salt

Method

  • Mix all the ingredients: Mix all ingredients until the sugar and salt are fully dissolved. A simple method is to place them all into a jar and shake until combined.
  • Marinate: Let the vinaigrette stand for 2 hours to allow the flavors to meld together. This recipe makes about 1 1/2 cups.

Field Notes

  • Can also be called sweet italian vinaigrette
  • Works amazing as a marinade or dressing
  • Check the saltiness of the everything bagel seasoning you are using. Some contain quite a bit of salt and others contain no salt.
