Fragrant Calrose Rice
Fragrant Calrose Rice is an aromatic, flavor-packed side that takes your meals to the next level. This rice absorbs the delightful, spiced flavors of FFG’s Fragrant Chicken Broth, turning it into something special rather than just steamed rice.

It’s super adaptable, pairing perfectly with everything from grilled meats and roasted veggies to lighter options like stir-fried greens and seared seafood. What I love about Calrose rice is its pleasant stickiness and its versatility as steamed or fried rice. Just remember, washing the rice is crucial in getting rid of that excess starch, ensuring you end up with a fluffy yet slightly sticky texture.

Whenever I prep Fragrant Chicken Broth, I look forward to the rice it makes. It’s versatile enough to complement just about any protein or stand alone with a few veggies or pickles. It’s incredible with a cracked raw egg mixed in and finished with green onion and furikake. This recipe serves about 6, making it perfect for pairing with your favorite main courses or for a quick lunch using any leftover protein.

Main Ingredients:
Calrose Rice: Calrose rice is my go-to rice. I prefer the Homai brand, and we use it extensively at Hattaway’s. This medium-grain rice is super versatile, lending itself to steamed and fried rice dishes.
Fragrant Chicken Broth: This Chicken Broth is easy to make, and has a wonderful aromatic spice note. It’s the perfect base for brothy soups, poaching meatballs, or cooking noodles and rice.
